Meg...
If you had to pick the sound track of your life, what
would it contain?
Wow! This is a great question! Not because of MY answer, but because of all the memories that it will evoke in everyone’s mind who reads this! We all enjoy thinking of “our songs” and the memories they bring about. Music is great, isn’t it? As I type this word....the song Do You Know What I Mean is playing on my stereo.
(It just stopped, now Come Sail Away Me by Styx is on. Styx played at our school dances when I was in Junior High. They came out with Lady and I never saw them again.)
The sound track of my life...hhhhmm.
It would have to start with the Stones...You Can’t Always Get What You Want. (When my kids asked for things they couldn‘t have for one reason or another, I would sing, “You can‘t always get what you want. But if you try sometime, you just might find....you get what you need.”) No matter how bad it has ever been, I have always gotten what I needed.
Next would be In My Life by the Beatles because when I love, I love. There is no half ass love. And you know it. You smile often.
Next would be Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. I don’t really know why. It is just such a touching song. I relate to it on a level that I just can’t explain.
And, now, I have to think about it.
(Meg takes a break.)
I am back. I would have to add Rock Me Gently by Andy Kim. That is because I am waiting for the man that will make me feel like Andy Kim felt when he sang that song. I have a really sexy dance that I do when I listen to it (I LOVE dancing in my living room.)...I’ll be right back.
I’m back....next...I begrudginly add I Am Woman by Helen Reddy for the obvious reason, I have tits.
I would have to add Drive All Night by Springsteen. That is such a sexy song and there is a side of me that could have written it. You have to listen to it to understand what I mean...with your eyes closed.
Cheeseburger in Paradise. I stuck that one in there because I'm nuts.
Love is in the Air. That song is the reason that I met the father of my spectacular children. I must leave that one right there.
The Super Bowl Shuffle because I dated a guy who was on the Chicago Bears team that won the ‘86 Super Bowl. The ‘85-86 football season was about the most fun I have ever had in my life. I thank the Lord that I was in Chicago then. My biggest mistake was leaving.
Ticket to Ride by the Beatles. That was the first record I ever had. If memory serves, the flipside was Eight Days a Week.
I absolutely LOVE to dance to Do You Love Me Now That I Can Dance. I stripped to it once...and I did it well.
Out of frustration I must add I Love the Nightlife!
I can't forget Girls Just Wanna Have Fun...it is soooo true. At least for this girl.
My highschool sweetheart and I had two songs, Sister Goldenhair by America and Love Will Keep Us Together by Captain and Tenille. That was my first heartbreak, unless you count the day Donny Osmand got married. I don't remember the exact date, but it was in the last half of May, 1978.
Del Amitri did a great song called Roll to Me. I would have to add that and that would complete Volume 1.
Girl...I could go on for a while. I listen to music ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!! But it is very late and I must go to bed. I hope you all had a nice Friday night!
So, how about you? What songs are telling and why?

Dear Meg,
I would love to rock you, gently or otherwise. You have no reason to worry, I am harmless.
Kevin
Excellent answers, and you didn't use "Truckin'", lol :o)
