Hi. I'm trying to think of another description to put here. Any ideas? I'll try again at 420.

Evolution is a theory that is contiunally tested with emperical observations and peer review. It has been shown valid countless times over the last few centuries.

I never wanted to get into this debate, just the debate of what should be taught in schools. If anyone is interested, this link is very interesting:

And here is a link that debates the two, with a slant towards creationism:

When it comes to what should be taught in schools, it is my OPINION, that the schools should stick to what is science and the churches should teach whatever it is they want to teach and then the children should be invited to talk about the two theories at home where the parents can moderate and teach their own children how to think critically.

Actually, while we as Americans sit back and bicker over the silly little things, critical thinking is becoming a lost art. People accept what they are told by people they like and they dismiss and criticize what is said by people they don’t like. It makes no sense and it is frightening that we are not thinking for ourselves. But the lack of critical thinking will do more damage to this nation and our children than any debate over the origin of man. If they can’t THINK, they will never figure it out. When you are listening to someone speak, especially if it is someone you usually agree with, listen to see if what they are saying actually makes any sense. Practice picking out the fallacy’s in any given statement. THAT’S what the schools should be teaching, so that the kids can learn to think for themselves. But they have a reason not to want that to happen, if the kids questioned them, they might have to actually justify some of the things that they say. Anyway, we as parents need to teach our kids that skill ourselves. And, we have to go to the schools and demand better education. That does NOT mean throwing more cash at any given problem, we have already spent enough cash to see our own kids failing.

And when you DO go to the schools, ask some questions. If we can’t teach our children math and science properly, we will be at the mercy of some nutty nation who has somehow seen to it that their children HAVE studied math and science. Take China for example. They are certainly not a model for civil rights, but damn, those folks are about to become a super power and a disciplined one at that. Jeez, we could all get in trouble, not just liberals or conservatives! We are ALL Americans, let’s get it together and stop allowing ourselves to be divided because the conquering will come next.

OK. My dad is sitting in my living room watching a Cubs game alone and that can’t be. I want to go to see the Cubs for my birthday and if I sit in here, I will never be able to drop any hints, so I must go and do that now.

See ya!!!

Meg
