Meg....
....I don't know if the tax-refund-for-charges issue is a done deal, but when I was reading about it, it seems to me that what you are being asked to do is not PUSH the issue of his trial, versus dropping the charges altogether.
Exactly. I couldn't drop the charges if I wanted to and I am under supbeona to testify so all I can do is what his attorney asked, to write the prosecutor a letter explaining that the restaining order was incorporated into the divorce so I should be happy with that. I think the logic is that I, as the victim, have a say in how the charges are handled. Also, my attorney said something about I was alledgedly writing letters to the prosecutor trying to push the whole thing. I have no reason to do that, the charges are pending and I don't have to do anything to keep them moving forward. All I ever did was respond to whatever form they sent me and I answered all of the questions they asked me.
And, no, it is not a done deal, no one will get back in touch with me to tell me what is going on with the taxes. I found out that a reader was right, a state court cannot absolve me of a federal debt so even if Vex agreed to pay the back taxes, they could still take my refund and hold me responsible. I could hold Vex in contempt of court, but that wouldn't get the IRS to give me my money back. I am kind of annoyed that they didn't tell me that when they assured me that Vex would be taking care of the back taxes.
Oh well, what can you do? Just wait for them to call for now.
yes, we really should meet sometime -- nitro and glycerin at the Marietta Diner. Wouldn't that be a riot?! My mother and her friend were here this week, and I took them there their last night here. They loved it.
Yes, we should. Name the time. Every one I have ever taken to the Diner has loved it, never a bad meal. My daughter and her friend really enjoyed it, they went twice.
I, too, am thrilled that baseball season is back. Although I am a die-hard Braves fan, one of the prized items in my baseball shrine is a copy of the sheet music to "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" signed (mimeographed, no doubt) by Chicago Cub announcer, the late, great Harry Caray.
Too cool! While I was doing home health, I went to an eldely couple's house and noticed a yellowed baseball. I picked it up and couldn't read the autograph that was on it. The husband said it was...damn, I am drawing a blank...The Georgia Peach...Ty Cobb! The wife was his neice and they just left that ball lying around the house! I was amazed.
Well, I have to go get some sleep so that I can stay out all night tonight if I want to. But before I go, I wanted to say something about depression. I hope I didn't make anyone feel badly by my answer. It's just that the signs are so obvious and depression is such a miserable illness, and so easy to cure. So, please, email me privately if you'd like at MargaretB0629@aol.com. Have a great day and I will be back after I sleep a bit and then suck coffee.
See ya!
