Good morning!
I have a friend who has offered to help me have a yard sale this weekend. They were supposed to email me last night to verify the fact that we would be carrying out our plans as we had discussed but I'm afraid that I may not have mentioned the fact that my old email addy is being held hostage by Gmail so I am hoping that this post will serve as a reminder that my new address is megbkelso@gmail.com.
OK, that being said, I was supposed to decide what I would be willing to part with. Other than a few sentimental items, I have no choice than to offer up all of my belongings as I need to try to dig myself out of this hole that I've gotten myself into. It's kind of sad, actually it's very sad, that I have to do this, but it's much better than sitting on the side of my road on my couch with everything that I own in a bunch of trash bags so I'm going to do it.
I can no longer afford to stay in this house...as a matter of fact, I don't have a clue how I've managed so far. I've been applying for every job that I could apply for that's within walking distance but so far, I've not had so much as one reply, but it's early in my hunting so I can't get too worried just yet. I'd love to work in nursing, but there isn't a nursing job around here that I can walk to so I'm more than willing to take whatever I can get.
I'm not looking forward to selling my belongings, I like my stuff. And I'm certainly not happy about the yard sale idea, but I do live in Georgia, so as they say, "When in Rome..."
My friend is apparently an experienced yard sale person so I'm going to trust that they will be much better at it than I am...I'm a sucker and I would let stuff go at far below a reasonable price so my pal is going to be the one to do the haggling. I'm grateful for that, I'd let a television go for a quarter if someone asked me nicely enough. My friend said that Fridays and Saturdays are the best days so those are the days that I'll be doing it. If you happen to be in my neighborhood, come on over when my friend is in the bathroom and I'll sell you anything for a nickel.
No one has chosen to buy a raffle ticket for the car which is a good thing because I would have had to let it go to anyone who bought one "ticket"...I gave my word that I would sell the car and if only one person had offered, I would have had to give it to that person for $12.34 and that just would have stuck in my craw.
Well, it's 2:30 AM and I'm still up so I better go to bed and try to get some sleep. If my buddy is reading this, just come on down, I probably will be sleeping pretty late in the morning as I've been up so late. The plan is still on as far as I'm concerned so come on down!
OK then, I'm off to bed.
See you all in the morning!
Meg
