Hi. I'm trying to think of another description to put here. Any ideas? I'll try again at 420.

OK then...

Here is the finished job...I couldn't get my father's pictures in the shot because they need to have the hangers lowered, they were only inches from the ceiling:

I can't tell which one of the close-ups I already posted so I'm putting this one up now...sorry if it's a rerun. Someone wrote and asked me to post a picture of the stencling job so I got my father's digital camera and took some pictures. I'll take more when I finish but in the meantime...what do you guys think of it? You can remain anonymous...so be truthful!!!!

By the way, my father just painted the walls and he hasn't gotten to the ceiling yet so forgive the paint on the ceiling.

Oh my goodness, that is so beautiful! I wish I had a steady hand like yours - unfortunately, my carpel tunnel will never allow me to stencial like that.

YES!!! I knew it wasn't me! Thanks Gal!

I'll do yours...I've done mine...I enjoy doing things like this. Well, I enjoy seeing it finished, not so much doing it...but I LOVE looking at it after I've done it.

These are really sharp. I like to stencil as well. How many colors did you use? It looks like you used more than one color green.

Yeah, I used hunter green, garden green and jungle green. They're pretty much just blended in with each other. You can't tell from the pictures...obviously you can see the different colors...but not the blending.

Glad you like it!

Meg

PS Really glad!

Hey girl!

Yeah, that was the point. My father painted the wall and was looking at it from the table and said that it needed something to break it up a bit. He was going to use a strip of wood like you would put at the bottom of the wall and I suggested this instead. I did it in two of my rooms and they looked great. My living room took me about a month to finish, the bedroom took a couple of weeks. I have about 4-5 more stencil sheets left to do, they're almost two feet long each. This is the first one that I've done that has 2 sheets, one overlaps the other. It's the toughest one that I've ever done, really a lot invloved. When I suggested the steciling, I was thinking of a black, geometric-type pattern, maybe a square with a smaller square in it but when we went to Michael's, my father picked this one out. It really looks good, but I never expected him to choose one so involved. That's OK, it looks good and it's pretty striking so whenever someone comes over and sees it, they'll mention it.

Dad will smile thinking about me and nut lady will frown because she can't say, "I paid THOUSANDS for it!"

All it cost was $35 and a few evenings this week.

OK...my father is lying on his bed and my pecking away is probably bugging the hell out of him so I'm going to go to bed.

See you guys in the AM...if I wake up early enough, otherwise, I'll be back after the Bar Mitzvah!

Ciao,

Meg

Thanks Leslie!

Now, when the nut lady has company and they say how nice it looks...she might just like it herself!
