Hi. I'm trying to think of another description to put here. Any ideas? I'll try again at 420.

The friend of mine...

...who threatened to come visit me has actually done so. I told him that he didn't have to turn right around and drive home and that he could just crash here. As I type this, he is nicely tucked away and fast asleep.

I just wanted to pop in now because we stayed up so late watching movies and talking that I will most likely sleep in. He fell asleep on the couch so I just cleaned the kitchen and came here.

There was quite a bit to clean because he brought dinner and then some. He stopped at a chicken place that I can't remember the name of so we had fried chicken, potatoes and gravy, cole slaw and biscuits. I couldn't believe how much I ate!

He also stopped on the way down here at one of those road side stands to pick up some peaches and tomatoes. They were both heavenly. There's not much better in the summer than a sweet, juicy peach. The tomatoes were plump and juicy too. I ate and ate and ate.

He also brought a great big yellow watermelon. I've never seen one of them. The shell is green but the melon itself is yellow...here, let me take a pic for you:

Maybe you've seen one of them before and maybe you haven't but it is absolutely wonderful. I'm sure you could get a dry one that doesn't taste too good but if you do, try it again. Sometimes you just get a bad piece of fruit. Don't you hate that?

Anyway, I had two helpings of everything at dinner along with some of those great tomato slices. Next I started in on the watermelon. Then I didn't wait for any more room in my tummy, I just had to have one of those peaches. I ate one right away and then my friend cut one up and put it on my coffee table. I just couldn't resist, I had to put a bunch of pieces of peaches in a bowl, cover it with half milk and half evaporated milk and then I just covered it all with sugar. My grandmother use to make that for me with peaches she picked out of her back yard.

All evening I was munching on that melon and the peaches. Then, I took a piece of leftover fried chicken and made a chicken sandwich with it. I would have taken a picture and posted it for doggybloggie but after I stuck that great big juicy tomato slice on it, it wouldn't have photographed well a...TAAAAAL!!

Damn, I ate so much that my tummy hurts. But it was goooooood!

One sort of funny thing happened. I paint...a lot. I paint canvases, wooden things and plates. I have one of my plates sitting on the coffee table for display only. When I was cleaning the living room, I noticed that someone had put something funky on my plate. So, I had to wash it.

I stuck it in the drainboard and forgot about it until I noticed my friend eating off of it. I didn't have the heart to tell him that he was eating food off of an objet d'art that I had painted myself. Here's a picture of it (I know there's a screw up in the middle, he didn't do that.):

I paint a LOT of that picture, suns over water, over and over again. I'll show you some more one day. I also like to make my own potholders with those kits that we had when we were little girls. They're fun to make and they last forever. I have a BUNCH more than these, I've been making them for years:

I don't ever remember writing about the arts and crafts that I make. Hhhmm, that's odd. Oh well, maybe I have told you but didn't show you anything.

I think I'll go to bed and listen to the birds chirping. See ya!
