Well...
..I screwed up my bill payments and I did it big time. I got en electric bill for $500 and for some reason, I just KNEW that it was for one month because I was caught up on all of my utilities...or so I thought. When I got that bill, I paid $100 and figured that I would just pay extra every month until I got caught up.
It turned out that the bill WAS for two months already. The past due amount was only $126 and if I had paid that yesterday, I would have been fine. But, I didn't know that the bill was for two months so today when the guy came to disconnect the electricity, I had to give him a check for $475, the $400 that I owe plus a $75 service fee. I'm not very happy about that. They won't be thrilled either when the check bounces. There's only 68 bucks in that account.
So, somehow, today I have to come up with almost $500. That should be fun. I always did love a challenge.
I suppose I could stand on a street corner on my crutches with a cup in my hand. But there's really not that many people walking around this neighborhood. I would think I would be out there for a very, very long time before I even got 20 bucks, let alone 500.
I could collect cans but I have a feeling that it would take a LOT of cans to equal $500.
Do you see why I find life so interesting? These little daily surprises are always such a treat.
I guess I better hobble my ass into the shower and get dressed. I'm not sure why that should be required before I go try to deal with this, I might do better to stay all funky looking. But if I should need to flirt at all, I had better not be funked up like I am now.

I hate when that happens.....and I hate the utility companies even more....
Thanks, Meg. You reminded me of something that happened to my ex before she dumped me. She wouldn't let me help and I could never figure out why. I can help you though if you need.

Why is your electric bill so high? There are a lot of things you can do to reduce the bill. Many of them you can do yourself as well.
Yes, that was a bit odd. She also wouldn't get a divorce from her third husband because then there would be nothing stopping her from getting married again. Hmm. I thought that was the plan. Silly me. Let me know how your bill turns out.

I've never known why the electric bill stays so high. Probably because of the shabby windows that were put in this house. When I thought it was 500 for the month, I figured it was just the high price of electricity everyone was talking about. I turned the AC off immediately when I got that bill. As it turns out, the bill was about normal for two months, I just thought it was for one month.
I'll get this one taken care of. I always do!
